Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 12, 2010 3:58 pm I have been forced by my lovely body corp company to add some colour to the side of my driveway to 'soften' down the impact of requiring a concrete slab to park my car on! Grrrr So to soften this they have agreed to let me plant some flowers / bushes in a little strip of soil I have on the side of my driveway, provided the foliage (if thats the right word) kind of lays / grows / expands over the first 30cm or so of the concrete, thus hiding some of the concrete from view. The concrete sits around 10cms above the soil level, it is a south facing driveway, that about 50% of it see's sun all day, the rest is early morning and late evening. Can someone provide some inspiration of the options? Point Cook, Victoria - Being hounded by the fascists!! Re: Plant / Flower help 4Oct 13, 2010 10:12 am Fu Manchu Where is the said drive of death and visual destruction to the community? We're in Vic, and funnily enough there are 3 houses in our street, we are the very last street in the estate, so no-one except my neighbours drive past my house. The neighbours are fine with it, but alas, the body corp aren't. Point Cook, Victoria - Being hounded by the fascists!! Re: Plant / Flower help 5Oct 13, 2010 10:59 am OK So cmoooring's suggestion is a ripper There is a heap to choose from. Some native nurseries over east have more WA plants than WA nurseries Hakea laurina (Dwarf form). Verticordias Correa Misty Bells and Dusky Bells. My top pick for your job. Give them a clip a few times a year and they will be amazing Callistemon "Grerat Balls Of Fire" Oh and another stunner would be Acacia cognata "Lime Light" and "Fettuccine" Stunning Chuck in a few roo paws for effect and contrasting foliage and it will look tops 0 4704 Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7931 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain.
