Re: Turf rolls on a pallet 2Oct 09, 2010 6:21 pm How long it lasts and how long it looks good are two different things. After just two days it will begin to blanch, like when you park the car on the lawn and get the white spots where the wheels were. The edges on the otter of the pallet begin to grow. After 5 days it will look awful rolled out and many might even think it is dead, it won't be and it will look great in 8 weeks time if you take care to do it the soil right and care for it with more organic composts rather than processed fertilisers. After w eek it will look all mouldy and yuck, it begins to compost in the centre if it has been getting a fair bit of water. If you don't water it, then the outer rolls go dry and they may well be stuffed. This is why it is important to lay turf with in the day it is delivered to keep it at it's best. It gives it the best start it can get and also costs less in treatments and water to get it going again if it is all old and yuck. Often people buy it cheap if it is left over or old and end up spending more on fixing it. Re: Turf rolls on a pallet 4Oct 09, 2010 8:13 pm Oh no that will be fine Sunday it will be starting to lose colour. They will cut and pack on Thursday for a Friday delivery and on the Saturday, if it isn't super green, you know what is going on It will all work out really well and I hope we get to see photos They using concrete or timber sleepers? Timber or steel uprights? Any drainage behind sleeper? 3 2786 |
