PLUS I got a BARGAIN on a freezer. We now eat beef...until it runs out in 10yrs With the cost of the freezer and the butcher, it worked out at about $7/kg for the meat, and now we have a mew freezer. DH & I spent the day out doors, moving a delivery of firewood, setting up the new layout & edging for the vegie garden-and then moving some soil. I also started the first of our trench composting areas. I may not be able to move tomorrow-and DH will be worse because he has done all the wheelbarrowing! Trench compost system. First dig your trench and start throwing compostable items in it. Next invite your feathered workforce to the party...after a few weeks backfill and start the next one! This pile of firewood is about 1/3 of what we have. There is 1/3 outside the shed and the remaining 1/3 is stacked close to the house under cover as well.
