Fu- what else? All the happens is big tall wishy washy plants that are prone to disease and pests. Then you go out and come home with armfulls of tomato pest this and tomato pest that. Then none of that works and many say to themselves.... Stuff it, I go buy some So in addition to what Dee has said (all wonderful stuff there Dee ) I'd get some powerfeed, seamungus and molasses on it. Get the molasses on it once a month Mix some straw through the coir stuff and potting mix. Get a nice thick layer of straw in the top of the pot Put the seamungus down on the soil before the straw goes over Then hose it all in Re: Sufficiently sufficient..... 89Nov 18, 2010 6:28 pm I'd also be tempted to pinch out the flowers until the plant is looking healthier - this way the energy will go into getting better instead of fruiting for now 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' In one bed I had sown swedes and carrots-just after they sprouted I threw on some rocket seed and noticed today that all 3 vegies are going great guns! Snow peas are growing really well, but the climbing peas are not as happy-although they are down the other end of the same bed....beans (bush & climbing) have sprouted-as have the eggplants seeds sown direct into the beds to replace the seedlings munched by critters! We picked our first 2 strawberries and harvested a variety of salad greens for dinner tonight! A few months back I decided to try some potatoes in a grow bag here at the rental...due to all the rain the growbag was very waterlogged,so I decided to see if I could ferret out some small potaoes...this is what I harvested after tipping out the bag! Re: Sufficiently sufficient..... 93Nov 28, 2010 4:23 pm ^^ I've got other beds of potatoes growing out at the block ONc- I'll keep seed potatoes from them for next year....these babies have "ËAT ME"! written all over them (if you look closely enough.. ) The grow bag was a bit of an experiment to keep me interested whilst I was waiting to sow the others! Re: Sufficiently sufficient..... 100Dec 13, 2010 11:03 am Sure was Cooped! Over the weekend I picked a full bucket of snow peas-once they start cropping they go nuts! Strawberries are divine-only problem is that none of them are making it out of the area...we are eating them before we get to the gate!
