Today I've created a 3m x 15m no dig garden bed. It's part of an experiment I'm conducting. AFter creating a lot of long narrow beds last winter with "ävenues" of grass between them, I found that the narrower beds are more work than wider beds-so on the SOuth East side of the central axis I've incorporated the avenue into the original narrow beds via the no dig system. On the North Eastern side I'm going to rotary hoe the avenue and incorporate it into the narrower beds that way-I'll see which version works best for our soil over the next few seasons! Love how much of the green thumb you have going. DH has read a bit into no-dig and permaculture. Definitely how he would like to go I think. We just need to wait for the $$$ because he doesn't want to start a half-@rsed garden he wants to put in proper beds around the perimeter of the verandah. I also ordered 16 roses from Treloars as my Mothers' Day present (family was told that's what I was getting! ). More importantly though- I planted out 8 seedlings each of cabbage & cauliflower, potted up some mint and then seeds of broccoli, rocket, coriander, spinach and perpetual spinach were sown! Bring on the Winter greens!
