hi
Does anyone have a jacarandah or advise on growing them in Victoria ?
We live up on the NSW / VIC boarder clay soil though some areas are not as heavy. We had a jacarandah tree in Brisbane and i just loved it. Up there we had a timber house on a very small block, clay soil close to the river, but no damage from roots not even to the concrete footpath outside the fence.
Have been told they can get to 40 meters but the one in Brisbane was years old and only about 15ft, maybe 18ft at a push. surprise.
We now have a house made from hebal Block and then render. I want to plant a jacarandah i just bought in the back garden which is large 35 meters X 35 Meters . Have read horror stories about roots destroying concrete slabs and houses sinking.
Would appreciate any thoughts or info from anyone.
Thanks.
