Please forgive the basic questions, I've only recently graduated from pot plants to a 'real' garden.
Our garden beds are piled quite high with soil, I want to reduce the level before we replant so all the soil/mulch doesn't keep falling out over the edges. What can I do with the excess soil and old mulch? The mulch (small bark chip) isn't really broken down, it's just a bit tired looking. The soil seems to be fairly good quality but I don't have anywhere else to put it.
I know it's important to mulch for a number of reasons, but how then do you apply fertiliser such as Dynamic Lifter? Over the top of the mulch, or scrap off the mulch, apply fertiliser and then replace mulch?
