So this isnt a vege or Garden patch thread but more a Bush tucker thread
I am a massive fan of Native foods and use lots in cooking but there are some plants that are not seen as FOOD plants but can be used for a tasty treat
I have 3 Grass trees and the flower spikes produce immense amounts of nectar and it tastes SO sweet
SWMBO has often asked WTH as she see me licking the nectar off the spike
Banksias again in the morning have literally TONNES of nectar and I dunk a flower into a glass of water for a sweet drink (the Joey likes it too )
I have some Austromrytus (midgenberry) these are really yummy and WAY better than any Lilli Pilli
Hardenbergia (Sarsparilla Vine) nibbling on the leaves is again nice and sweet
Lemon Myrtle makes a good subsitute for lemon (I think it wont last very long the way I keep removing leaves)
So do you have any plants that are NON-TRADITIONAL that you enjoy??
