I was at a nursery recently(sertels) and saw some Silky Oak tree plants , just loved the leaves and the way the plant looked, so I bought one realising that they can grow really tall.
just reading up on them a little more they seem to have invasive roots as well, which would be bad for the fondation of our house when they become big,
I am in melbourne west.
Question
1) If i put the tree in the backyard at a distance of around 25 ft away from the house on the side of the fence that is facing the road, ( corner plot ) will it be fine.
2) pruning the tree to keep it to 15 ft, will that damage the tree. if the height is 15 ft does that mean the root are also approximately 15 ft in depth and width.
3) do they grow well in a large pots?
thanks
