I saw a farming show once that has proven if farmers use burning off methods and then hoe the ashes back into the soils they have a much better crop and healthier soil etc. I've also witnessed farms carrying this out in inland NSW. Dont know what the negatives are though. Just make sure its completely cold......I know that sounds like a given.....but you never know what some people will do!
