Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 13, 2010 12:47 pm Hi Guys, I've applied for an Occupation certificate for my newly built house. But the Private Certifier has adviced me that he needs a landscaping certificate showing that landscapping is done as per DA. Does anyone know whom should I contact to have this certificate. I was of the understanding that Private certifier does all this? Re: Landscaping certificate 2Jul 13, 2010 1:15 pm Can you just show him your approved landscaping plan? If you followed it, surely that would be enough? Custom European Cabinets - Melbourne Kitchen Specialist PM for business details as website currently being updated! Our Crazy Owner Builder Journey! Re: Landscaping certificate 5Aug 25, 2010 5:56 pm Hi, I know its a bit late in the day but as I've just been through all this crap I thought I'd chuck my twopence in. Presumably the DA asks for a certificate to prove the landscaping has been done? Unless the DA specifically states who should issue the certificate, e.g., a landscaper with xyz qualifications, just type up a one-line "certificate" that states that the landscaping has been done and complies with section xx of DA xxx/xx. That's it. They make it sound so formal, asking for Certificates for this and Certificates for that. More often than not a simple letter stating relevant facts will do. The key is to read and comply with the DA, nothing more. Good luck. Re: Landscaping certificate 6Aug 30, 2010 11:06 am We're in the same situation. Our Certifier gave us a letter at the end of the build specifying that we would have to have a certificate from a horticulturalist with certain level quals (can't remember) to say the landscaping has all been done as per the DA approved Landscape Plan. Wasn't impressed as we also are doing all the landscaping ourselves so it seems yet another expense of having to then get someone to come out and "sign-off" that we've done is all correctly. I've got all the receipts from the wholesale nursery etc just in case I can find a way around it and prove that we've bought all the varieties/numbers of plants we were supposed to and then show pictures which proves that it's all been planted and done as per the Landscape Plan. Probably won't be good enough I'll bet. We've done all the driveway and footpaths through Council so that bit is easy to prove so it's frustrating to have another cost imposed on us before we can get our Occupation Certificate and then apply to get our deposit of $1000 back from the Council for the footpath levy. Not unless you have managed to put it as a special condition into the contract somehow. 1 6154 We are in NSW and require 2 positive covenants to be placed on the property didnt really underdtand this but apparently it will take a few months, and have just been… 2 7465 For anyone that comes across this issue in the future - Just did what aussieta said and found a plumber to inspect it and sign off on it.
