- Responds well to pruning (or so the internet tells me)
Has anyone in Perth got any comments on persimmons they've seen or grown? I'm curious to know the growth rate, final size, etc. Some persimmon trees are enormous (in the US) but other sources classify them as a small to medium tree. Perth nurseries seem to list them as a 4 x 4 metre tree. Is this a 4m spread on either side of the trunk (total width 8m), or a total width of 4m?
I'm a little concerned about size and proximity to the front of the house - where I'm planning to put it (that is, the trunk) is only a maximum of 2.5m from the front bedroom. I don't have a problem with yearly pruning to keep the tree productive, healthy and small, but I don't know if this is a poor choice of tree for the location.
Thanks in advance!
