That will make it a more useful play area in summer and give the kids something to play in. Peach or Nectarine trees, apricot, plum trees all make magnificent features and provide yummy fruit for the kids. Chinese Tallow, Cottonwood Hibiscus, Silver Birch, Claret Ash, are some others worth a look. By adding those things, they will also make the home far cooler and therefore reduce summer power bills. You'd reduce the water needs of the garden and reduce water bills. Most new landscapes created by homeowners are excellent to some extent but lack the walls and ceiling to bring all those well implemented and selected plantings together as a complete picture. I see you have the walls planted around the fence line Re: Fairy Blues Landscaping - new pics pg 4 82Nov 13, 2011 9:24 am Thanks for the advice Fu. I will pass it on to DH. I want the trees so with some persuasion from you I think I will win! Any advice on where exactly to put them? After reading a few threads I was toying with the idea of espalier - lemon and orange - in front of the chook pen. Will add shade and hide it a bit. What do you think? Fairy Blues Landscaping - new pics pg 4 83Nov 13, 2011 10:46 am Yeah great idea. Topiarius will help with the espalier techniques. That's a big back yard. Use it to cool your home rather than heat it. Re: Fairy Blues Landscaping - new pics pg 4 84Jan 04, 2012 3:06 pm Hi Meagan, have you done any more to the garden? It's looking great by the way For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: Fairy Blues Landscaping - new pics pg 4 85Jan 04, 2012 3:10 pm Nothing new, just added some chooks to the chook pen. I am babysitting the ones from my school. We are still discussing the trees in the lawn area, as suggested by Fu. DH really likes his lawn. Re: Fairy Blues Landscaping - new pics pg 4 86Jan 04, 2012 4:02 pm Looks wonderful. Well done. I like he bamboo idea on the wall. Creates a warmer atmosphere. I definitely think your yard could do with some trees especially as it seems the perfect entertaining yard and that many days/nights will be spent outside. I ended up going with 'Andrew Belic Construction Co.' https://www.instagram.com/andrewbelicconstruction/ 2 59597 Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations… 5 7784 Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35191 |
