Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 5Aug 09, 2010 10:49 pm I swear I'm not being a smarty pants but what about spraying green food die where the wee spots are? The lawn will recover and grow back. If you want, plant samples of healthy lawn in with the yuck patches to speed things up Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 6Aug 10, 2010 2:08 am Fu Manchu I swear I'm not being a smarty pants but what about spraying green food die where the wee spots are? Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 7Aug 10, 2010 3:18 am Yeah and if you have to colour match, mix some yellow die in too Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 8Aug 10, 2010 1:10 pm Yes she is a desexed female! ( howd u know lol) Just a clay house brick? Im interested to know how it works, il definately give it a shot. thanks fu its a strange but probably effective method, although its not too bad yet as the grass is pretty new, so im more concerned with stopping it so it doesnt get too much worse. will the old yellow spots eventually disappear? Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 9Aug 10, 2010 2:20 pm Yeah the spots will disappear any clay brick does the trick As for the desexed female bit let's just say I know a thing or two about dogs I went outside once. Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 11Aug 10, 2010 11:15 pm It works because they tip the water out and lick the paver Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 12Aug 11, 2010 6:47 am I have no idea how it works but something in the clay brick changes the water???? I went outside once. The graphics were alright, but the gameplay sucked! Settlement:22nd June Slab:27th August Frame:16th Sept Bricked:21st Oct Roof:24th Nov Linings HANDOVER23rd March! Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 13Aug 11, 2010 10:59 am Did a bit more reading and if the clay brick don't work give Fu's molasses tips a go over the yellow patch and stop fertilizing the soil I went outside once. Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 14Aug 11, 2010 11:31 am It works as it acts like a sponge and soaks up the impurities in the water... or something like that... with nitrogen being the stuff that causes the most damage to the grass (but good for the lemon tree I would also think that you will have to get a new brick every few months or so Cheers Cozmo ______________________________ Building a PD Heywood 29 http://fromevetoeternity.blogspot.com/ Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 15Aug 11, 2010 11:38 am We fertilise the plant but it is the soil that really needs feeding My previous point was more a joke about the old add a boot to a recipe and at the end you tip all the other stuff and eat the boot Feeding the soil will never be harmful and gives the turf it's best chance to want to grow back into that area Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 16Aug 11, 2010 11:43 am ryan509 Hey everyone Just wondering if theres anything that can be done to stop the yellow patches where my dog is peeing? You need to stop feeding her too much dry food. It concentrates the urine. Some wet food, canned or fresh meat with the dry will help reduce the severity of patches. Dr Harry talked about this on Better Homes and Gardens this year I think. I used to work with dogs years ago and have not heard about the brick in the water. Can't imagine having to drink water that's had a brick in it myself but I guess if it works. Try the food as well. Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 17Aug 12, 2010 12:06 am The brick in the water seems worth a go, it can't do any harm to try it Re: Dog pee turning grass yellow 18Aug 12, 2010 1:38 am i would have suggested dog rocks. but if you have tried them and they havent worked for you then i'm not too sure.
