Hi all
We live in a SE suburb of Perth near the hills and our ground is full of clay and have been advised by a landscaper to put down 'Village Green' turf instead of Wintergreen like we were going to. However we are very undecided on what would be best! Unfortunately the budget just won't stretch to Empire Zoysia or Buffalo at this time so if Village Green will be better choice than Wintergreen for our suburb then we are prepared to look at it.
We had Wintergreen at our rental house in the same suburb but more on the flatter area with more sandy soil and out the back it did wonderful and was lovely without too much watering or attention - the front which got full afternoon sun was quite good although in summer went all dry and crunchy - but it always recovered again winter/spring!
So any thoughts on this new Village Green turf for a clay soil? Is it worth the bit extra money or shall we stick to the wintergreen? We have got only 2 garden beds out the back which are both bordered by pine sleepers to make garden beds and other areas the lawn will be up against brick paving.
So any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks!
