Hi all,
I'm in Melbourne's south east, and I planted some soft leaf buffalo over summer and followed a lot of the instructions found on this website from the likes of the almighty Fu, etc. It was brilliant having the advice of people that have successfully made things grow before because, well, I don't have a fantastic track record when it comes to keeping plants alive.
Obviously, now that winter's set in, the buffalo's gone fairly dormant. It's still pretty nice and green though, so I'm pretty happy with that! However, it's slowly being overrun by weeds! I've spent a couple of hours twice now painstakingly removing these little buggers and ensuring I get their roots and all only to have them come back with a vengeance!
I've attached a couple of photos of my nemesis. Can anyone tell me if there's something I can put down on the lawn that will inhibit the growth of these ugly blights without harming my lawn? My back is killing me!
Your help is desperately needed and will be very much appreciated!
Cheers,
alfresco
