Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 09, 2010 5:46 pm Hi all, I did a search for this subject but nothing came up so hoping someone here can advise; I have a Dracena in the garden in my current house which i would love to take with me when we move into new home. It has been there approx 4 years, has 2 stems, one 2.5 metres tall with 1 head & other about a metre with 4 heads (not sure correct term!!) I was wanting to know if it was possible to dig it out & place into large pot without killing it!!! Not sure what kind of root system these have. If it is possible is now the season to be moving it (winter)? Thanks in advance for any help Cooper's Build - Perth NOR viewtopic.php?f=31&t=30525 Prelim- mid Sept 2009, Pre Start 2 Feb, Siteworks- 21 April 2010, Slab- 10 May, Deliveries- all by 26 May Bricking- 28 May - 26 June, Roof complete 5 Aug, Float 28 Aug, Lock up 16 Sept Cabinets 1 Oct, Tiling 22 Oct, PCI 18 Nov, KEYS 3 Dec 2010 MOVED IN 17 DEC 2010 Re: Transplanting a Dracena 2Jul 12, 2010 4:21 pm Any advice or suggestions?????? Dig up the root ball around it. Geeze you could leave one of these laying on the back patio for weeks and then plant it and it will grow fine They are so tough. Even kick it every time you walk past it and it will just grow Well maybe not kick it because you might hurt your foot. Oh and I guess don't leave it on the patio as that would be a Oc Health and Safety issue as a trip hazard Bit of seasol when it's done Re: Transplanting a Dracena 6Oct 04, 2010 12:40 am Thanks Fu, i'd actually forgotten i had this thread, came back in search for ideal soil prep & hardy dog friendly lawn & found i had been answered!!!! With the right soil prep and irrigation installed your lawn will be fine even with one day a week watering permitted. the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4833 It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard.
