Not sure how much garden area you have either - our back yard is fairly deep, about 15m from the back wall of house and pergola area which is at the side of house. Anyway, here goes: Back yard before http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj187/nurselovescoffee/house%20pics/HPIM0882.jpg Back yard soon after planting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Back yard today Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There is also a section of back yard between the shed and the house, not seen in first photos Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And a view of how the pergola space flows thru to the garden (taken last August when pergola first finished) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front yard when first planted http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj187/nurselovescoffee/house%20pics/DSCN1137.jpg Front yard today Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And narrow side area between house and side fence All our own design and labour Have I bored you enough yet?? Re: Show me your Garden! 5May 25, 2010 12:33 pm Bored!!!!???? Helyn it is beautiful, you have done such a great job and in dry hot conditions like yours, well done and I can see you have a water tank... how does it perform, you are in Mediterranean climate so most rain you get is winter, how long does your tank last? maggie Re: Show me your Garden! 6May 25, 2010 8:57 pm Helyn About 12 months - bit longer for front yard - back yard we didnt do until we got shed up. Hey Helyn, any more pics, especially of your patio area? i have built something very similar to you attached to the house, 5.8m wide by 12m long attached to the house, colourbond with treated pine decking beneath. But havent really a clue how to furnish it etc. Re: Show me your Garden! 7May 25, 2010 9:37 pm Helyn Deemaree Kyndylan Capers: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=46852 My blog: http://www.sufficientlysufficient.blogspot.com/ Re: Show me your Garden! 8May 25, 2010 9:46 pm Maggie, in SA it is now a legal requirement to have a tank plumbed to at least one toilet - what we didnt realise is that when the rainwater runs out the tank gets topped up with mains water so toilet can keep flushing - as we want to drink our rainwater we didnt want it getting contaminated with mains water - so we installed 2nd tank 1000L which drains off the pergola roof. This being tank you can see in photo - as we only use the water for drinking and watering pot plants it never runs dry, in fact is presently full to over flowing. The original tank is 5000L and that does run dry in summer when it hasnt rained for a while. Miagi, what exactly would you like a photo of? Our pergola (gabled verandah to be exact ) is colourbond roof, with some laserlite sheets, and floor is stencilled concrete. We have some pot plants, a garden gnome, 6 seater table setting and a park bench in there, total size is around 6m x 11m. Mohammed, where are you? I hope some of this is helpful to you, not meaning to take over your thread Re: Show me your Garden! 10May 27, 2010 5:25 pm Its totally okay helyn I havent been on this forums for a while i guess i am a bit busy. Re: Show me your Garden! 12May 28, 2010 10:22 am this is our back garden and i love the look of sandstone, we are on acerage which is why the garden beds are so huge. We are also in SE Queensland with a subtropical climate which is why we can plant palms, cordylines etc outside. We are planning on finishing the stairs and laying down pebbles and sandstone pavers in the path. Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Show me your Garden! 13May 28, 2010 11:09 am Nice chunks of stone there.
We live on acreage as well and bought the place because of the natural beauty...creek boundarys on 2 out of 3 sides...national park at rear..and lots and lots of jungle and water on the block...sometimes too much of both.
