Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 08, 2007 4:13 pm My next small project in the front yard is a small feature wall made from hebel blocks, then rendered.
I want it to be shaped in an arc sort of shape and was thinking that i could slightly step the hebel blocks around so that it is sort of in the shape i want, then fill in the gaps with mortar .. then render over the top and paint. Does that sound like it would work (if anybody has worked with Hebel)?? I saw on BBlitz once nigel doing a hebel retaining wall that bent around ... just can't remember how he made it look smooth!! Re: Hebel wall 2Oct 08, 2007 5:28 pm I vaguely remember seeing a show where a guy used hebel blocks to make something. And he cut and filed/sanded it down to get the shapes he required. if so concreet foundation size of foundation and type of concrete will be determined by height of wall place y12 starter bars every 500 odd mm lay like bricks when morter is dry core fill with a very wet concrete mix let it set lay a course of solid bricks ontop (concrete expands and contracts this will crack render on top of blocks glue metal plasters corners on top and outer edges do a base coat of cement/acrylic render then top coat Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com I was looking at different options for a fence for my build and Hebel PowerFence seemed like a good option (one of the criteria was a solid wall look). However, I don't… 0 4841 1 5030 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 3660 |
