Hi,
I hired a rotary hoe to cultivate the old soil, mixed in some new soil hoed that in and then added about 50-100mm on top to help me get "perfect" levels.
But the problem is the small plate compactor I hired was perhaps too narrow, it just dug grooves and pretty well sunk and made a mess so rightly or wrongly I stopped using it.
Anyway, now the turf has been laid, 3 weeks ago, it's looking OK except it isn't as flat and level as I would've liked, is there anything I can do about it now?
Maybe water heavily and hire a wider compactor? Or is top dressing the only solution? I was hoping all the watering would cause natural compression but every time I move the sprinkler around I feel like I'm walking on a sponge (that deforms with usage).
Please help and many thanks in advance.
