As we are currently building a new house and want to keep our current unit for renters I want to update the strip of garden along the back fence so that it is low maintenance, but still pretty enough to attract high paying but lazy renters.
This is a picture of the garden bed a couple of years ago. It is on the East side of our unit and doesn't get a huge amount of direct sun.

I now want to plant it out (hopefully over next weekend) with some shrubs and possibly a climber to cover the fence that will both make it look nice but also limit the amount of work that the tenants need to do.
I've currently got a compost bin full of great soil, I have molasses, olsens green bio, seasol and powerfeed. The soil is pretty good draining. Oh and it's in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
What would you recommend?
