WATER RESTRICTIONS!

JUST CONFIRMING - FEMALE HERE....

1. tried showering kids together but more water ended up on the walls of the bathroom than on them so that didn't work..
2. we diverted the washing machine grey water into a 250 lt wheelie bin and watered the garden with it. It would fill 3/4 of the way each wash!!!! That's why we want a front loader at the new place.
3. Shorter showers, :evil:

(I used to have 20 min showers before.....)
4. car washing at the car wash places and not at home
5. definitely looking at a water tank with pump for the new place.

I take my car to the carwash as well; if I do it at home it’s on the lawn.

We want a tank also….but I seem to have run out of room for one!
Dilemma!!!

I must be honest …..I do like my showers!

Showering with a bucket is nice

Then you can run outside naked to pour it on the plants and entertain the neighbours :shock:

No I'd don't really do that !!
But the plants enjoy it at least

I don’t work Fridays……well for my other half at least.

Fridays are my day to do my work. BUT I don’t have any today. I am going to mow the lawn soon so be good while I’m gone!!

'washing' the car in the rain .. then drying up in the garage. I use a spray n wipe wax as well..
no 'prerinsing' dishes prior to dishwasher entry... I pour out pasta water/ vegie rinse water/ leftover water from drink glasses to remove food debris or simply brush out the food scraps then load the dishwasher.
'spot- cleaning' some clothes which may be worn for 1 or 2 hours..common occurrence with kids where a drop of food is fallen. I have cut down almost one extra load of laundry per week this way.
Heaps of mulch in the garden... grass clippings spread out over flower beds after each cut..and of course the vegie wash water, shower water and the laundry rinse water...
the new house will have flush and laundry connected to rainwater, greywater diversion to lawns and front garden and we will do all the vegie washing in alfresco connecting the outlet into vegie garden beds and sugarcane!

May not be agreeable to some but works for us as shown by the water bills.

Wow that’s great vpande!!!! Well done!

I spend a fortune each spring on sugar cane mulch for ALL of my gardens, it is a big help for keeping the ground moist!
And yes, grass clippings go in the big garden at the back, which dries out really fast thanks to the large gum tree I put the garden around…..

Actually……it's blowing really quite hard here at the moment….and what do think had started in the bush behind me????? :cry:

YES …..a huge bush fire!!!! Rotten kids they do it every year!!!!

Anyway, fire brigade is there…..a few of them. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the wind does not change direction to my place :shock:

I thought Vanderlay was a bloke and then for a while I thought I got it wrong and Vanderlay was female and then I went back to my first postion that Vanderlay is a guy. So 66% right.

Now First_Timer_Ray, I thought you ware a guy until your photo appeared.

I personally like the mystery as it breaks down barriers.
