Fu,
I hoping to grow some big roo paws in this bed in my front yard in Geraldton, WA.

(Bed is the one in the foreground)
We are about 300m from the ocean and that bed is south facing so mainly shade in winter but full sun in summer. "Ventilation" is good. (Gero southerly). My dad who is a horticulturist reckons they are no go due to ink / rust diseases but from my research Anigozanthus Flavidus would appear to be very resistant as long as well "ventilated", this species also seems to be the biggest and most vigorous and long lived which is what I am after. Not really that fussed on the flower show but understand they can have red or orange or yellow varieties, I really like the form of the plant and that it is a WA native.
Any advice and if a go-er wher can I get that species ?
cheers
