Otherwise you will frost burn the exotics…..
Best to speak to your local nurseryman, he should be able to show you the plants best suited to your location and temperature! This is not going to be a cheap project for you, so best you do it right from the beginning. I think you should be able to do it, I've seen lots of gradens with an exotic tropical look if that's what you mean. Check with the nurseries as suggested (large ones such as Gardenworld in Keysborough are good), If you use some taller trees for canopies, it will protect more delicate exotics below. Bird-nest ferns and philodendrons would help the look, and they're both very hardy, even in Melbourne. Good luck with your project Eimaj Re: Creating an Exotic Garden 10Sep 26, 2007 11:28 am I can’t believe Matt and Cookie posted at the same time as me!!!

Lots of use of larger trees for canopies, ferns, strappy leaf plants, bromeliads, chinese fan palms, Here's some pics: http://au.blogs.yahoo.com/australias-be ... 2&photo=10 http://au.blogs.yahoo.com/australias-be ... 2&photo=10 http://au.blogs.yahoo.com/australias-be ... 2&photo=12 Re: Creating an Exotic Garden 18Sep 26, 2007 1:21 pm Exotic…..
