Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: Which Lawn Mower? 21May 02, 2010 10:55 am Thanks for the recommendation!! I thought they should be OK, although in saying that wouldn't expect them to do heaps of rough mowing for an extended period. My block, as stated, is dead flat, sandy soil and will be more garden than lawn so think it will be the perfect solution. Thanks again Re: Which Lawn Mower? 22May 03, 2010 3:34 pm catjim The finely chopped grass also acts as a fertiliser for the lawn as it breaks down. Be careful with this info because if you just use fertiliser and mow with a normal mower you can expect the clippings to become a very big pain in the arse. It will create thatch and that in the wrong circumstances will be detrimental to lawn health. Embrace more fertilisewise methods of lawn care or better still my fertiliser free methods and the results will be good. Molasses, powerfeed and non fortified blood and bone will allow the soil microbes and the like to build healthy populations that break this stuff down effectively and therefore returning the nutrients back to the lawn. Your lawn will have no better nutrient source that has the perfect balance of nutrients than from decomposing matter of itself. It returns at rates the lawn will actually use, unlike most cheap rubbish environmentally damaging fertilisers that many use on their lawns. Those fertilisers are a waste of money too the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4834 Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6347 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7561 |
