Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 20, 2010 3:58 pm hi, This is a q I just asked Fu. Since this is a common q, i posted and hoped it helped others. Q: I planted a kangaroo paws a few wks ago. I probably forgot to water it regularly and now the foliage drooped. How to help it recover? A:The poor fella will droop if the root ball is dry. heaps of water is going to be needed and not just once or twice. 4-6 waterings will be needed to rewet it. They pick easy enough though. Also if you have planted it too deep in the ground the foliage can rot and this causes the plant to wilt and then die. symptoms of this occur around 2-4 weeks after planting. Keep the mulch clear of the leaves and keep any soil at the level where the roots start. Thanks Fu for answering my q again Re: Common plants problems 2Apr 20, 2010 4:00 pm This is another one I asked a while ago. Q: I found the leaves are a bit yellow and with some black spots recently, did i make sth wrong? A: The Hebe is going to go to poo in the winter, they always do and always will. They show up in garden centres for cheap prices and in numbers each Autumn and late summer because the wholesale growers don't want to have them in stock through winter because they get frost damage and go yellow and crappy. It's normal the Hebe is feeling the cold and the metabolism is slowing down. Lower leaves on the hebe will be shed and the green ones higher will go yellow and get black spots. When the warm nights return, they will green up . So if u have the same problem, u don't need to worry too much Just thinking, if u've asked Fu a question b4 and think it maybe a common concern for others, feel free to post so we learn more. Cheers Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly.
