This post is probably best directed to the resident garden gurus, but if anyone has one of these lovely trees I'd love to hear their experience with them My question is, can "coral bark" maples be grown successfully in Perth?
I'm researching deciduous trees for a feature tree in my north-facing front garden. The sandy soil is well drained, and I'm planning on planting small shrubs around the base of the tree in a circular garden bed. Being at the foot of the hills (out Midland way) we get quite strong easterlies - the front garden is quite sheltered from these due to my house placement, neighbours placement, and a fence.
Fu I promise I've trawled through your many awesome posts on small feature trees (and bookmarked the Water Corp website)! Should the maples prove too delicate for us in Perth then I promise I'll be getting a feijoa (it's evergreen but I can deal with that)
