Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 14, 2010 12:02 am A kind of servey For those into garden services producing trailer and truck loads of green waste would a free or low cost green waste drop off point say within 10kl be worth it to you? I have some ideas for a niche business and I am trying to field interest in the idea. Basically you avoid council fees of disposal. This can apply to anyone under lawn care to tree services and has the requirement of being at least 90% green waste, i.e paper is ok but plastics and metals are bad. Some soil and rocks are ok but more than 10% reduces considerably my gains if it can be done. Would it be worth it for you? I understand tree services would probably sell the chips and leave the wood behind but if you get too much would this be worth it for you to bring it here and not process it elsewhere? Re: Garden services 2Apr 14, 2010 12:06 am Bloody great idea! Of course folks should have a garden shredder and shred all the stuff out of the garden themselves The benefits are that we hopefully see less illeagal dumping in national parks and roadsides and bushland. Re: Garden services 3Apr 14, 2010 12:24 am Well I hope so. If I can get this off the ground I hope to move into general household waste but that is a looong way down the road as it involves considerable technical challenges but green waste is a pinch. I Just need to know what kind of market sources I can rely on in the at least the short term to get off the ground and give some people jobs. The main point is avoiding land fills and the associated costs. Hi JW I just read your post and I find this situation quite strange.
