Hi there,
We are in the process of designing retaining walls and fencing on our newly constructed home.
At the moment, our neighbour has not commenced work on their house yet - only the ground levels have been done. We need to have the retainers finished in a few weeks to satisfy our occupancy certificate requirements.
So the heat is on.
We are looking at an L-Shaped retaining wall that wraps around the front right corner of the house. We did a cut so the neighbour's and our front yard are higher than our slab's ground level.
I want to build the wall out of Besser Blocks and ideally mount a Colourbond fence on top of the retainer wall down the side. Is this possible? How is it done?
I'd prefer not to bring the reataining wall in closer to our house to allow the fence posts to sit in the soil, as there is not much spare room along that side of our house.
Do I put the fence posts in first? (which will be 1800mm above the wall + 800mm down inside the wall + 400mm beneath the wall = 3m posts! Aaargh!).
Just after someone to tell us what's involved in this kind of project.
Cheers,
Ocean.
