I noticed yesterday that it appears to have been ring barked, presumably by rabbits. Does ring barking always mean the tree will die? Is there anything we can put on the tree to cover the ring barking to give it a chance of survival? I've nurtured this from a tube and am quite attached to it so hope to save it. Thanks.
