Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 22, 2010 9:35 pm So we are on 5 acres, we dont want to put a hedge around the whole place but in certain areas across the front we would like some screening plants - we dont want to prune cause we just wont have the time, nor do we want a formal landscape, its going to be pretty natural, with some beautiful gums around the place and mostly grass. i was thinking of some sort of native - would like it to be pretty high - around 3 metres, something that doesnt attract bees as our young children wont appreciate being stung. That needs to have a lower denser planting of a hedge or shrub line. Feijoa are great Maccadamia trees for the later Mallee Eucs too. Then lower plantings of grasses and small shrubs Result effective You don't want a single planting of something dense. Grasses like Lomandra and Dianella are also native.
