Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 23Mar 13, 2010 4:10 pm serenity, cats always cover their poo so even though I have cats that come into my yard I have no clue where they are doing it. If it's attracting flies it sounds like the poo is sitting on top of the soil? If that's the case then it's not likely to be a cat because it just goes against their nature to do that but it could be another animal such as a possum which will leave their poo ****** around (especially anywhere they find a food source and are eating) . If you're sure it is a cat, then get some chicken wire and lay it down between your vegies, once the cat realises they cant dig a hole because of this wire they'll go to the toilet somewhere else. That's absolutely true, that's exactly what happens, that's what I've always understood... except the cats aren't behaving that way any more. It's really weird. Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 26Mar 15, 2010 9:36 am Hello Piscean, Thank you for your suggestions. Yeah, definitely a cat, saw him doing business in my garden patch many times. Maybe I should get a dog? Have a great week! Kind regards, S Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 27Mar 15, 2010 3:37 pm yep a big dog should work too the reason they go for vegie patches is the ground is usually nice and easy to dig at but they dont like trying to scratch at the chicken wire. to keep it pinned down you can cut up some old wire coat hangers and bend them in half and put some around the edges of the wire to keep it in place. good luck Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 28Mar 15, 2010 5:42 pm piscean serenity, cats always cover their poo Not true. I have continuing poo problems from an unidentified neighbour's cat. It craps all over the place. It's disgusting. Nothing I've tried has worked. I hate irresponsible cat owners. Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 30Mar 28, 2010 4:03 pm Dear All, Asked a few neighbours...all said they don't have a cat. Hmm, the cat still come once or twice a week. Smelly and attracts flies...past few days because of the light rain....very soggy (Yukkkk) too when I picked the poo up (not naked handed of course !) When we had a good look at it, it does not seem to have a chain with tag at all. Any chance it can be a wild cat? Hope there are more responsible people out there...... Have a great week ahead! S Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 31Mar 28, 2010 4:05 pm If it's sleek and fat, it probably isn't a stray. There are a lot of strays around though, courtesy of irresponsible owners who don't neuter their animals. Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 33Mar 28, 2010 4:29 pm Some years ago I had a neighbour's, pooing cat visiting my garden too and one day actually saw the people hiding behind their shrubs watching the cat (apparently they didn't like it pooing in their own garden so sent it somewhere else), anyway I used to keep the closest window open about 200mm and a filled spray water bottle inside so could just spray it with water from inside the house. At one stage I had to resort to adding Tabasco to the water as the cat just looked at me with contempt and continued pooing...which made me even madder (if that was possible!). I didn't hide the fact I was chasing the cat away, but it's owners got the @#$% and didn't speak again...who really cares if they are so irresponsible? Some other cat used to sleep the night on the lounge under the pergola area (never did see this cat just smelled it and used to get the fur all over my clothes) so I sprinkled white pepper everywhere. This works well but needs replenishing if it gets wet and you also need to remember it otherwise you'll be the one sneezing, but it works great on cats. Yet another cat (siamese) started sleeping in 'my' car which was in 'my' garage and of course used to get locked in there at night when I locked the garage door. One night when getting something from the freezer I sensed a movement inside the car so picked up an old towel and threw over the cat, this worked a treat and it never came inside the garage again. While I dislike cats (moreso their irresponsible owners) I would 'never' hurt any animal, it's just that sometimes you need to frighten that animal so it associates the fright with the area you don't wish it to visit. Good luck and hope some of these work for you! Re: How To Rid Of Neighbour's Cat Pooing In My Organic Garde 34Mar 30, 2010 8:25 am Dear All, Thank you for your suggestions! We put pepper and planted more Chillies around the area where the cat loves to visit. Actually we don't mind cat comes to visit just don't pooo... Have A Great Easter Break!!!
