Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 08, 2010 8:50 am We need to plant an established screening hedge/fence. We are in Sanctuary Lakes and they are very strict on fencing etc. Our blocks backyard fronts the main boulevard. We are getting ready to sell and need a 1.8m high plant screen across the back of the property it is the only way to get a private backyard quickly with no red tape. Can anyone reccomend somewhere in Melbourne that sells plants of these size. We currently have pittosporum but we are flexible as price and size and the most major considerations. Any advice on the best plants to use to get the most private yard possible is also appreciated. Thankyou Re: Established screening plants in Melbourne 2Mar 08, 2010 10:33 pm Lilly pily will be the most common. In a 30ltr, 45ltr or 400mm pot size. Most likely price per plant is about $100. No matter what species you choose, that will be the cost Re: Established screening plants in Melbourne 3Mar 09, 2010 6:46 am I was a sertels in Doreen the other day and they had plenty of decent sized trees, give them a call. Re: Established screening plants in Melbourne 4Mar 09, 2010 7:21 am I would, and have, chosen "Pittosporum - Silver Stirling". We bought them at about 2 ft tall last year ($10 each) and once we planted them now they are about 8 foot tall. They grow real fast and the more you cut them back the more they grow. It amazing. Fu is right though, for a 6 foot(ish) one would cost about $80 to $100 no matter what you choose. I got them from HelloHello. Agree - they have a good range of screening plants, Lilly Pillys, Pittosporums, camellias, all sorts of natives, small trees like Mag. Little Gem....and much cheaper than anywhere else. Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly. The flowers smell divine. 2 10216 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45484 It's all about wireless, self install now. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options. Eufy, Arlo and… 2 9768 |
