We want to do small ones..like 1-2m wide with gaps in between but are wondering how far off the retaining wall this should be? As it's almost another retaining wall does it have to step back from the existing one? It is a bit hard to gauge the depth of the yard from the two photos but what can be done if the wall isn't up to it (But chances are it is) is do a long hedge with a narrow path in front then have the raised beds in front of that. It will still look good and kids will love running around behind there. It just brings the wall forward a little. If you can build closer to the fence, Put the wall close but away enough you could clean out behind if you had to. So the width of a trowel so what 100mm? or so. Re: Concrete planter near retaining wall 4Mar 07, 2010 8:36 pm It's just under 6 metres from the fence to the end of the alfresco, so not lots of room. Thinking it might be safter to just put plants in at ground level rather than in planter box things. There's a heap of bars and concrete in the wall but don't want to risk wrecking it. Something low with some tidy capping but behind can be at normal height. It will look just the same Have it say at 350mm Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5195 Our standard double-glazed window is tested to achieve, Rw 34, and can be glazed to suit Rw 39. The price is good too... 3 9475 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16155 |
