Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 24, 2010 1:46 pm Hi, I am hoping someone could help me out with an error message which is occuring on my reticulation system. The power to our house went out a week ago and I don't think our retic has been working since. On the dial pad it comes up with the error message "FUS", the sprinklers try to pop up when I try to set it off manually but then nothing happens. The make is Rain Dial. Re: Rain Dial - Reticulation (FUS) 2Feb 24, 2010 5:49 pm I asked a relative who works in irrigation and they couldn't remember whether it is a system they have used before but said it is possibly indicating a blown fuse. Worth checking to see if your controller has a fuse in it. Re: Rain Dial - Reticulation (FUS) 3Feb 24, 2010 8:29 pm It is an indication of a blown fuse. The rain dial I had pictured in another thread lower down had a 2A slow blow fuse. You can buy one of those from the retic shop or Tandy. Take the old one with you. Re: Rain Dial - Reticulation (FUS) 4Feb 24, 2010 8:44 pm I recall mine was flashing error and it was due to one valve having a fault. If the fuse is fine you will need to have a retic fella out to check the wires. Check connections as well. Chances are it might be a knackered valve solenoid (or sometimes called a coil) That is the thing the wires go into in the valve. Do each valve one by one until the error appears. That may tell you which one the fault is with. Actually yours will flash a number after the error warning so that will be the valve creating the headache for you The other way is to get 3 nine volt batteries, join them together. Then unscrew the coil on the top of the valve. Touch the two wires (you'll have to cut them) of the coil onto the remaining terminals of the 3 batteries. It should make the little pin withdraw up into the coil. If it doesn't replace the coil/solenoid. They are available from retic shops.
