Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 08, 2010 10:39 am After much blood, sweat and tears we have finally finished our front yard YAY! We wanted a low maintenance front yard but with a bit of colour and some features. Just about every other house in the street has used the large river pebbles with yuccas/cordylines so we wanted to be a bit different and do something that suited our traditional facade. So we have done; 2 brick planters, concrete garden edging, a wine barrel pot, rocks, various shrubs, small trees, conifers, stones as mulch and artificial turf. Here are some pics... http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/Front_garden.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/Front_garden2.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/Front_garden4.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/Front_garden5.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i60/Hels-b/Post%20Construction/Front_garden7.jpg Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Yes it does make the house look finished and also so much better when it rains now as we used to end up with a mud bath out the front. I can also park my car in the garage now which is great! Donuts - I agree with Kek and we all have things that need finishing, I have a whole list of them! Just got to keep ploughing on with one thing at a time... But we put a lot of organic soil and fertilser in the garden beds first. Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new. Re: We have finished our front yard!! 19Feb 09, 2010 8:11 am Fu Manchu ::cry:: synthetic turf and no soil feeding I was kinda curious when that would happen... That said in terms of the aesthetic I still think it looks great and the other thing to consider the whole lot appears to be very low maintainence to my untrained eyes, and as Hels has indicated they did prepare the beds where the actual growing will take place. Synthetic grass isn't for everyone certainly, that said the way Hels has used it is the best usage i've seen. Fu, I'm sure if you look at it in the right light and with the appropriate number of beers under your belt it could kinda be mistaken for zyosia Our Build - Places Fairhaven 23+ - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=28045 Our Landscaping - Belial's Backyard - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=45375 Re: We have finished our front yard!! 20Feb 09, 2010 8:35 am kek :: You must be really pleased with your work, Hels - it makes the house look finished, doesn't it?
