Have recently been delivered 10 cubic metres of green mulch from Mulchnet.com. Thanks Fu, you have saved me $100's. (Previously used the ferrari priced shredded bine bark!) It smells so good no wonder the plants like it - and looks good too. Thankfully we are having some cooler weather for LOTS of wheelbarrowing. Can't wait to see my soil improve.
A couple of questions:- As I was getting just past the top layer of about a foot, it was hot, like really hot and steaming. I presume this is part of the breaking down process, but, I was wondering if it would combust? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Also, I am spraying a patch of kikuyu lawn with glyphosate, and want to cover this area in green mulch. Can I put the green mulch over top without removing the dead lawn, and if so, how long should I wait after spraying? Or am I best to dig out the lawn and not spray - only about 3 square meters?
Thanks for all your great info and advice, so glad I stumbled upon this forum.
