Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 25, 2010 5:50 pm Hello, Does anyone know where I can get pebbles like the ones in my blog (which is in my signature). They appear to be polished, and smooth, but I can't find any in a similar colour online. Not sure where else to look! Re: Where can I get pebbles like this in Melbourne? 3Jan 25, 2010 5:55 pm Hi Lara, It's a bit hard to tell from your pics, but they look like river pebbles of some sort. When we did our "stream" water feature in Melbourne, we got ours from Diaco's Discount Nursery, 190 Old Dandenong Rd, Heatherton. They had a fair few different sorts of pebbles. Here is a link to their online site, so you can see if any they have appeal to you : http://www.diacos.com.au/products/?category=10 MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! Re: Where can I get pebbles like this in Melbourne? 4Jan 25, 2010 6:35 pm Sorry, not the white pebbles in the first garden picture, the ones in the picture below that. It has pebbles and little green bushes in the picture. I forgot that there were two sets of pebbles in the blog.... They are smooth and polished, and about half the size of your palm each. They are a beigey-browny-creamy colour haha. Thanks for the link MagicJ =) They have a great selection. I quite like the 5th option in terms of colour, but want to find smoother pebbles, not jagged ones. Any large garden supply place should have them - what part of Melbourne are you building in? Just for one, Aumann's has river stones in several different sizes, plus large bags of polished pebbles in a range of colours. The polished ones are expensive if you're going to be covering a large area though....they're normally used for smaller feature areas. These are the two different sizes we have (not polished): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Where can I get pebbles like this in Melbourne? 6Jan 25, 2010 7:47 pm larajane Sorry, not the white pebbles in the first garden picture, the ones in the picture below that. Re: Where can I get pebbles like this in Melbourne? 7Jan 25, 2010 8:11 pm Thanks for the replies! I looked up 'river stones'. That is exactly what they are => so thank you for that suggestion. They must not have been polished. When I saw them in r/l in had been raining, so they probably just appeared shiny. Really appreciate all the help, will look at the links when I get home. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11584 Depends how much direct sun it gets.
