Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jan 20, 2010 4:18 pm Is it just me or are some estate covenants ridiculous? I was looking over my contract and knew that I had to submit a landscape plan for the front yard of the property, but it only dawned on me now how pointless the exercise is. It is required to be submitted to the Design Panel at a scale of 1:200. That gives me a plan size of 7cm x 2.5cm. Enough room to show a driveway and path, lawn, and garden beds, but not nearly enough room to detail plantings. Does my annoyance seem reasonable, as this is a factor that may cause a delay in my house design being released to council? Some people don't have time to do the job right the first time, but seem to have plenty of time to fix their mistakes. Build Thread Re: Landscaping Plans for Covenants 2Jan 20, 2010 5:36 pm A plan on an A3 sheet at 1:200 would give you coverage of about 80m x 50m. While they dictate the scale of the plan, the paper size is usually flexible but A3 is pretty common. Re: Landscaping Plans for Covenants 3Jan 20, 2010 6:30 pm Hold that annoyance; it's early days yet ....there's plenty more coming to irritate the bejeesus outta you, so save your energy. Give the developer a call and ask them what's acceptable. Some are more picky than others about these things. Does my annoyance seem reasonable, as this is a factor that may cause a delay in my house design being released to council? it is annoying but shows enough info for them to approve or not. The most important thing is a detailed list of species to be used and the small scale shows a rough idea of layout. Re: Landscaping Plans for Covenants 5Jan 21, 2010 12:42 am Oh and the 1:200 would be a minimum size.
