Most will do a free quote too. Re: looking for landscapers & Garden Designers 3Jan 07, 2010 5:29 pm A tip for you: Collect pictures of gardens, features, plants and design elements that you like (check out the landscaping magazines at the newsagent) and use them to show the guys you consult exactly what you like. You can just chuck them in a manila folder, you don't have to be quite this obsessive: http://keksmovingonup.blogspot.com/2009/10/leave-it-to-experts.html And photocopy your site plan, then mark on it where existing structures or plants are, plus where you think you'd like various things: entertaining area, kids' play equipment, pool, veggie garden, clothesline, garden beds, paving or decking, water feature etc. Then make multiple copies to give to the guys. Also write a list of things you want: the overall feel you're after, what you plan to use your garden for, things you love, (things you hate?), any restrictions or problems you have (easements, privacy needed from neighbours etc), and so on. Dot points will do, no need to write a novel. Make copies of this too. They'll love you for it and you'll save yourself a lot of time in getting plans or quotes re-done because you and the designer are on different trams. Re: looking for landscapers & Garden Designers 4Jan 08, 2010 11:49 am The very best option you have to read the sticky at the top of this landscape forum. Everything you will need to find the answer you seek If you organise it yourself make you get any prelays done under the concrete before you start. It's often handy to put in a couple of 90mm sleeves across your driveway so… 2 35347 Any recommended small/medium builder designers here in Melbourne Victoria? Thanks 0 633 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 6896 |
