Hey all,
I've been looking for a "Plumeria Obtusa", or the Evergreen Frangipani. I'm having a hard time finding it. Is this even available in Australia and if it is, it even worth considering in the Sydney area?

I have found when young they can be deciduous in certain aspects here in Perth. There is also a dwarf one that is easy enough to get. In fact your local garden centre should be able to get these as I know Benara nursery over here grows huge quantities of them and they export a huge amount of plants each week over east. Re: Evergreen Frangipani (Plumeria Obtusa) 3Dec 23, 2009 1:33 pm Are they the same as Native Frangipanis? We have just planted 5 in our front side yard. We bought ours from a closing down nursery sale out Kellyville way a couple of months ago. A customer of mine when I was still working had them line her driveway up in the Hunter Valley so you must be able to get them somewhere in NSW? Some things are worth waiting for. All I know is that the evergreen variety have rounded leaves as opposed to the more pointed, canoe shaped leaves. Stefan Building the M3tr!con Liberty 42 at Stonecutters Ridge. It's not even part of the Plumeria Genus (Hymenosporum) I have seen the Obtusa avail from Several online stores.. there is a fantastic Frangipani Nursery in Cobaki Nth. NSW/Tweed area and they will deliver to you in Sydney as my father in law has purchased some large mature ones from there previously. Hope this helps anyone out there. Leaves are very different Plumeria are related to The Euphorbias and the most common one you might know right now is the Poinsettia. Check this link or two for some ideas for where to get them http://www.calyx.com.au/plumeria.html Re: Evergreen Frangipani (Plumeria Obtusa) 8Dec 30, 2009 10:16 am Plumeria is very easy to strike from cuttings.... Do you see any tree in the neighbourhood? If so, go and ask for a cutting... Very very cheap and easy way to get any plumeria... When it has grown and in flower each year, you'll have people knocking on your door asking for cuttings and people will just steal them Out the back, they are safe and there to be enjoyed by you I know of a few places (businesses) and people who hang a sign out the front saying "No you can't have a cutting" Re: Evergreen Frangipani (Plumeria Obtusa) 10Jan 05, 2010 8:46 pm Haha, good to know.
