Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 17, 2009 5:23 pm Hi everyone, We are wanting to buy a 9 piece (table and 8 chairs) outdoor setting to put in our new house however I am struggling to find many places that sell them or don't cost a small fortune! We want aluminium frame, glass table top and cushioned seats. Any know of some stores to check out in Melbourne? (We are in the Eastern suburbs) We have tried bunnings, rays outdoors, the outdoor furniture specialists and bbqs galore but havent found anything we love yet Thanks in advance Re: Outdoor setting 3Dec 17, 2009 10:32 pm Ditto the ebay suggestion by Adrian!! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Re: Outdoor setting 5Dec 18, 2009 6:56 am I'm not game enough for ebay, have to admit; bought a single $20 phone cable about 5 years ago -- that's the extent of my dealings lol; such a chicken. My brother/sis-in-law bought their outdoor setting from a place on Maroondah Hwy in Ringwood a few years ago. Just googled it and came up with Rob Cousens/Greg Jones furniture; from the look of the map seems to be in about the right place; the name seems familiar - but it was *quite* a few years ago, lol (maybe close to 10 years...) and they only dragged me over from the west of the city once to have a look at it before they bought. The setting they have is still going strong, so no complaints on the quality; and from memory they bought there because the price was very reasonable compared to others; though I think they got it on sale/floor stock deal or similar. Good luck! - Land registered 27/11/09, settlement 22/01/10 - Currently doing the rounds of display homes. Re: Outdoor setting 6Dec 18, 2009 7:34 am We bought the $30 kmart chairs, they are very good for the price. Table wise we hunted around Suite deals, BBO etc. Picked up a freedom table at less than a third of it's original cost. Re: Outdoor setting 7Dec 23, 2009 6:18 pm Thanks for the suggestions everyone I had a look on ebay but there isnt anything on there at the moment but Ill keep my eye out =) Re: Outdoor setting 8Dec 23, 2009 6:29 pm The price is all in the chairs, choose a setting with cheaper chairs and you'll be getting a [rice you need. I would caution against glass tables, although it's tempered glass and shatters into a zillion pieces my 9 year old som still stood on the table (which he knew he should not do but did anyway because he's a kid) and it broke into a zillion pieces but he still sebered his wrist where he landed and severed 80% of the tendon requiring micro surgery and OT follow up for 5 months. Pay more for timber but cheaper if you consider the risks. $500 insurance excess, admission gap fee, plus OT follow up so the extra $1000 for timber I wish I had done instead About a year ago, I embarked on a DIY project to construct an outdoor Pergola, which measures approximately 5.2 meters by 4.0… 0 30219 Natural stone tiles like slate, travertine, and limestone add a timeless, elegant look to… 0 28257 thanks. the above one is white Mat tiles and have gripness so going for this Mat tiles for both indoor and outdoor.
