Came up really well, and has a lovely textured look. I did it mainly because i like a textured finish, but wanted the colour to not fade. You could also use any type of exterior paint in a low sheen.( I chose this particular one as i tried a few of the others and they looked like plastic if that makes any sense?). Good luck!! Re: Paint a concrete letterbox? 4Nov 30, 2009 5:57 pm FlissFloss is right - you can use any exterior paint. I just bought a can of Solaguard to match the front door and garage door and ours came up a treat. Two coats did the job, no undercoat or anything - and 12 months later, it's still holding up just fine. Re: Paint a concrete letterbox? 5Nov 30, 2009 7:08 pm Fantastic, thanks!! Re: Paint a concrete letterbox? 8Dec 01, 2009 9:54 am lisanne Kek I just checked the photo on your blog and we have the same letterbox so that's really good to know! Now I need to find paint to match my render! What colour is your render? If you know the brand and colour, any paint shop should be able to tint a can of exterior paint to match. Mine was easy, I just wanted a standard Colorbond colour to match garage and spouting etc... Re: Paint a concrete letterbox? 9Dec 01, 2009 9:59 am ^^^ any exterior paint but get the sheen you want. ie flat satin or gloss. I'd consider thinning the first coat so you get more penetraton ... like a primer, and then over coat full strength Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7165 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5727 |
