Hi All
Got a brain wave at work yesterday. I work for Water Corporation and we had a barbie in the new area.
This area is set between four walls and has a mix of timber decking and synthetic grass and beautiful plants. Looks absolutely gorgeous. Point was i had never seen synthetic grass before and it looks quite good. Wouldnt have a big yard done it though.
So i had this brain strain and now have this visual about what this useless possie could look like. At one end of our new house we have stairs that go up the side into the back yard which is quite small. So to make the yard bigger i thought why dont we do this. Oh and the height drop is about 5 metres i think. Its the height of the floor level of the second level down to the ground.
Get like a timber pergola type thing built, so the top is level with the rest of the yard and covers the stairs. Cover the top with that cement sheeting like they have for flooring in two story houses over east that you can walk on. And cover with the fake grass. Makes the yard bigger and brings in some green, and with the right plants in pots could look really great like it does at work. No water so i save my six buckets of water and no mowing. We arent having any grass as we are hoping to have a lap pool down one side, then decked for the rest. To cover where the wood is we could have wall cladding like we are having on our extension and have it rendered to match the house. How does it cope with a little dog if it does business on it? Does this sound like it could be done to any of the experts on here and whether its a good idea?
My head must be ready to explode with all the visuals i have for the house. What the kitchen will look like when renos are done. What timber flooring will look like etc. Now i got bloody grass in there as well lol
Thanks
Caz
