Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: Do Japanese Maples survive well in Perth? 21Oct 05, 2009 1:19 pm I get a terrible weeping red hives rash within minutes of touching any kind of pollen. If it was hay fever I'd just take a tablet and grab some tissues! The rash lasts 4-6 weeks once it shows up sooooo I try to avoid it at all costs. I'm also allergic to bees and ants so sweet sticky flowers are also unattractive for those reasons. Maybe I shouold get a bubble to walk from the house to the car? *Built with Gemmill Homes in WA* Slab - 1st June 2009 Plate Height - 17th June 2009 Lock Up - 18th August 2009 PCI - 5th October 2009 Hand Over - 15th Oct 2009 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20844 Re: Do Japanese Maples survive well in Perth? 22Oct 05, 2009 10:42 pm Maybe you should just permanently move into a bubble Manda? What about frangipangi's? Or are they a pollen one as well? I love them. Gorgeous they are. I think Fu may have already mentioned them tho... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22766 - my build thread! Time waits for no man. Unless that man is Chuck Norris. Re: Do Japanese Maples survive well in Perth? 24Oct 06, 2009 7:06 pm I find frangipanis don't "share" their pollen readily so they are ok in teh gaden if I don't touch them! I really like Fus idea of the ginkos though. As I have a corner block I thought I might plant them down the fence line and a traffic/privacy screen as they are quite an upright tree. I will have to figure out how far apart they need to be and how far away from the fence... most pictures show them close together which looks great! This would then take over the plan of the front corner tree. But that is ok as at least I will have some height going on in the "technically front" garden as well as shade for visitors' cars. *Built with Gemmill Homes in WA* Slab - 1st June 2009 Plate Height - 17th June 2009 Lock Up - 18th August 2009 PCI - 5th October 2009 Hand Over - 15th Oct 2009 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20844 It's possible but a soak well is usually much larger. Your 'soak well' only holds 424 litres when full. What is your soil type? Soak wells need sandy soils. 10 9010 Finally got the Soakwell at my house sucked out. Now I’m looking for ideas on how to hide it as it’s a bit of an eye sore. I’m thinking I’d like to turf over the… 0 3274 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13098 |
