This will reduce evaporation in some way as well but overall just reduces the leaching of chemicals into the soil and food. Takes a heap of soil to fill them too, around a cube, so that is a stack of bags required! Get a certified organic soil no ifs or buts If you have to mix anything into it, some yellow brickies sand or kids play sand as well as the certified organic soil.
