Re: Bugs and insects with open frenchdoors to alfresco area 6Sep 23, 2009 8:10 am kek We have two sets of bifolds and don't really have a problem with insects. Unless we're entertaining, we use windows (which have flyscreens, of course) for ventilation, so it's not like they're open all the time. When they are open, it's always during warm weather, so we usually have the ceiling fan running in the al fresco room - I have no idea if that makes a difference, but we don't have masses of insects coming inside. Some areas will always have more of a problem than others. Lakes and ponds would attract certain pests, so I'd guess that any suburb with "waters" in its name might have a bit of a mozzie issue... The retractable flyscreens are a great idea. Canterbury make them for their doors, and we might consider getting them installed in the future if we think it's necessary. http://www.canterburywindows.com.au/WindowsDoorsProducts/TimberDoors/BifoldTimberDoors/ScreenedBifoldTimberDoors.aspx Now I think about it ours was from Canterbury also.
