Cheers Re: Fencing Costs 2Jun 18, 2007 4:08 pm northlakes - what do you mean by "good neighbour"?
lapped and capped paling fences? Sydney prices are $100/m installed - probably a bit less as this was an internet advertised price. Re: Fencing Costs 3Jun 18, 2007 4:52 pm Hi Stonecutter,
Yes I mean lapped & capped...thankyou for the pricing, much appreciated Re: Fencing Costs 4Jun 18, 2007 7:22 pm Cost is about $35/metre for materials not including concrete for lap'n'cap treated pine fencing. Anything on top of that is labour. Re: Fencing Costs 5Jun 19, 2007 9:46 am The prices I quoted were for hardwood - I think treated pine is a little cheaper
Here was the link I have for hardwood fencing @ about $100/m installed http://www.alldayfencing.com.au/adfpalinghardwood.php Treated pine price is $90/m installed http://www.alldayfencing.com.au/adfpaling.php Re: Fencing Costs 6Jun 19, 2007 3:28 pm We generally don't recommend hardwood for lap'n'cap fences. The hardwood cut for fences these days is pretty poor stuff - mostly durability 3 stuff so palings will rot fairly quickly if sitting wet on top of each other. Re: Fencing Costs 8Jun 19, 2007 6:30 pm Duke - thanks for that. I wonder why our building guidelines require a hardwood fence rather than treated pine?
Colorbond is out for us - almost all new estates in Sydney at the moment prohibit Colorbond fencing. Re: Fencing Costs 9Jun 19, 2007 7:14 pm Probably something to do with the ridiculous hype created by "A Current Affair' regarding CCA treated pine.
Why on earth don't they want Colorbond?? Thats how you normally identify a brand new estate - no trees and rows of Colorbond fencing Re: Fencing Costs 10Jun 19, 2007 7:33 pm Duke - no idea! I'm sure you could put up a treated pine fence and they wouldn't notice the difference Re: Fencing Costs 12Jun 22, 2007 9:02 am Does it grate anyone else here that council gets to make all these descisions? Why can't the person who is building deciede wat they want to use?
3xb Re: Fencing Costs 13Jun 22, 2007 8:25 pm I guess there is a bit of dictatorship in all types of government Re: Fencing Costs 14Jun 27, 2007 2:15 pm Personally, I don't like the look of Colorbond fences, much preferring a tasteful paling fence.
We erected our front fence (21 metres of it), which is 1.8 metres high with colonial pickets and ball things on top of all posts. It cost us about $1000. We did it ourselves and it's a piece of cake. Lotte Re: Fencing Costs 15Feb 01, 2013 7:07 am Colourbond looks terrible after a short amount of time, if it gets dents they look unsightly, they also transmit a great amount of noise especially if struck, I'm glad it's banned! Slooowwwwly getting a Manhatten 35 in Middleton Grange Re: Fencing Costs 16Feb 02, 2013 8:54 am MR2 Colourbond looks terrible after a short amount of time, if it gets dents they look unsightly, they also transmit a great amount of noise especially if struck, I'm glad it's banned! That's funny MR2. I've had it and never had problems. Was just going to ask a good price x the metre for CB + erection/labour costs ? Re: Fencing Costs 17Aug 22, 2013 2:25 pm We have just received our contract for our vacant block of land. We were very disappointed to find out that we are only allowed to have either masonry or colourbond fencing. We have a dog and I'm worried about her jumping on the fence and dinging it. Need to remove glass panel out of concrete without wrecking the glass to get the spa room in, any recommendations on how to do that. Thank you 0 39043 We are at the stage on our build in Kilcoy, Queensland where we need to get our fencing installed but we cant get any contact details for our neighbours to give them… 0 6156 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13091 |
