Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: Have you hired any of these landscape companies (in Sydney)? 7Sep 14, 2009 11:16 am Fu Manchu Nosey bugger aren't you And a ripper question Quote: is there any review or audit process to quantify/measure adhererence to particular industry stds? Well to the best of my knowledge, no, not directly or as a regular audit process. However, as part of association, you as a landscaper are part of an inner circle of your peers and if you get a bad name or do *** work the gosip gets round and you are investigated by the associations council. Quote: what key elements sets apart industry and non-industry members? Cowboys are a huge problem in this industry and for the most part give the industry a bad name and undermine the integrity of the industry. The Landscape associations are at the forefront of technology, play a part in developing local government policy in regard to landscapes and allow members cheap or free access to the best training and info. look at it like this. You and some mates are bloody good at what you do. Then you meet some others that are bloody good and get talking about what you have seen that is no to good at all. You want to set some controls to seperate you and you mates from the others. It is more a code of ethics. Sounds like a gang doesn't it Break the code and you are out on your ear and become marked. As a client, pick a cowboy and who do you turn to if things go sour? Pick an association member and if there is an unlikely problem, you can talk to the association council and in severe cases they maybe investigated and removed as an association member, meaning they are not privy to the latest products, the latest trends, may loose friends, may loose their business' integrity, will be in the dark with many things landscaping.
