Hanging over the fence at the back of our new house is a vine of some sort. At the moment it's flowering, with a pale lemon coloured bell-shaped flower, and lots of them. The leaves are dark, shiny green, about 3cm long, and it seems to grow about 3 inches a day, twisting onto anything in its path, or even back around itself, if necessary.
The woman next clipped theirs back dead level with the top of their fence, which looks 'orrible. I left ours and it looks quite soft and nice draped over the treated pine palings.
However, shock horror after reading a gardening mag. it sounds a little bit like a privet and should be hacked back pronto. Maybe the woman next knew something, thought I. Hope not, because it looks quite pretty.
Help, help.
PS: You're right: Melbourne. And The wind is still blowing.
